Test Day Photographs

From November 2011 all Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE) candidates must have their photograph taken on exam day, as per Cambridge ESOL regulations. When registering to sit an exam through any of our centres, candidates and student administrators must agree to our Terms and Conditions of which the test day photograph is a part.

Registration for CAE constitutes the candidate’s consent to a test day photograph. Candidates who do not comply with the regulation on the day, will not be allowed to sit any part of the exam, and will not receive any refund of their exam fee. Candidates under the age of 18 must provide written permission from a parent or guardian to have their photograph taken.

The photographs will be full-face, passport-style. They will usually be taken on the day of the Speaking test, but may be taken on the day of the written tests.

Mandatory test day photographs will apply to the CAE exam only in the first instance, but will be introduced for the remaining Cambridge English exams at a later date.
